The Dell XPS Gen 5 is Dell’s top-of-the-line gaming and multimedia machine. The featured default clock speeds makes the system fast and dependable for running in a heavily multi-tasking environment or running multi-threaded digital applications. XPS Gen 5 supports a lot of media features like recording TV; authoring and burning DVDs etc. Dell’s Gen 5 is the first system that features the dual-core Pentium Extreme Edition 840 (Pentium EE 840) Processor.

The XPS Gen 5 package includes a 20 inch Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW wide-screen LCD monitor with Picture-In-Picture feature, and dual-core Pentium Extreme Edition 840 Processor with Hyper-Threading and 955X Express chipset. The 3.2GHz Pentium Extreme Edition 840 contains two processors on a single chip and each with 1 MB of Level 2 cache and a dedicated pipeline to the 800MHz front side bus. This processor is user-overclockable in BIOS to 3.40GHz and 3.6 GHz. The Gen 5 XPS can be configured with anyone of the Microsoft Windows XP/Media/Professional Editions operating system.

Dell XPS Gen 4

The Dell XPS Gen 4 desktops are designed basically for home use and gaming purposes. This Gen 4 desktop has 925XE chipset that allows for the higher front side bus speeds of the latest processors, whereas Dell XPS Gen 3 had 925X chipset. The dimensions of Gen 4 are 8.7 inches width, 19.2 inches depth, and 19.9 inches height. XPS Gen 4 is beautifully designed having stylish and refreshingly silver color.

Dell XPS Gen 4 features 17 inches Dell E173FP flat panels LCD monitor and the graphics performance is enhanced by the featured NVIDIA GeForce 6800 graphics card with 256MB of memory. The specifications of XPS Gen 4 includes Intel Pentium 4 Processor having 3.4GHz processor speed, two 74GB WD Serial ATA hard drives in RAID0 Drive Array, a Productivity software, and 512MB DDR2 SDRAM Memory. The maximum supported RAM is 4GB with a maximum supported speed of 533 MHz. The installed Cache memory is 2 MB and the number of memory slots provided is 4 x DIMMS.

Dell XPS M1710

The XPS M1710 is Dell’s latest premium gaming and multimedia notebook replacing XPS M170 with added improvements like the Go 7900 graphics. Dell XPS M1710 is available in two colors i.e. ‘formula red’ and ‘metallic black’. The XPS M1710 features a 17 inch widescreen WUXGA LCD, having resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, with the Dell TrueLife treatment to provide greater contrast and bolder colors.

The dimensions of Dell XPS M1710 are 15.5 inch wide, 11.3 inch deep, and 1.6 inch thick, and weighed approximately 8.8 pounds without AC adapter and 10.2 pounds with AC adapter. M1710 version include the fastest Intel Core Duo T2600 (2.16GHz) Processor, 2GB of 677 MHz DDR2 memory, 100 GB capacity at a speed of 7200rpm SATA drive, and an Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GTX graphics processor with 512MB of DDR3 memory, 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW/+R) with dual layer etc.

Dell XPS M140
